Privacy Policy

Echo has no accounts and no server of ours. Your photos and everything you write stay on your iPhone. The one exception is buying Plus, which is described plainly below.

What stays on your device

  • Your photos. Echo reads your library to choose a memory and never uploads one.
  • What you write about a memory.
  • Voice notes you record.
  • Recap videos and the PDF memory book, which are made on the device.
  • Your streaks, themes and settings.

All of it is held in Apple's secure app storage. We have no way to read any of it.

Permissions Echo asks for

These are the exact reasons shown to you by iOS. Each one is optional, and Echo keeps working if you decline it.

Microphone
Record a short voice note about each memory. Audio is saved only on your device.
Saving to Photos
Echo needs to save photos to your library.
Photo library
Echo needs access to your photo library to find memory photos and save generated memories.
Notifications
We send one gentle reminder a day when your memory is ready.

The one thing that leaves your device

Buying or restoring Echo Plus. Apple processes the payment, and Echo uses RevenueCat to check whether a purchase is active. RevenueCat is a third-party service with its own servers, and it receives purchase events and an anonymous identifier for the installation.

  • It never receives your photos, your journal or your voice notes.
  • It never receives your name, your email or your Apple ID.
  • It never receives your card details — those go to Apple alone.
  • If you never buy anything, there is nothing for it to receive.

Analytics

Echo uses no third-party analytics — no Firebase, no Mixpanel, nothing of that kind. We rely on Apple's own MetricKit, which reports aggregate performance and crash data to us without identifying you.

Deleting your data

Because there is no account and no copy on our side, deletion is entirely in your hands and takes effect immediately. Echo Settings can clear the memory caches or delete your whole Garden, and removing the app removes all of its local data.

Children

Echo is rated 4+ and collects no personal data from anyone, of any age.
