Data Deletion
Echo has no accounts and no servers. Your memories are stored only on your iPhone, so you delete them yourself and the deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no request to send us and no waiting period.
Delete your data inside Echo
Open Echo Settings and choose either option:
- Clear all memory caches.
- Delete your entire Garden permanently.
Delete everything at once
Removing Echo from your iPhone deletes all of the app's local data, which is every piece of data Echo holds. Touch and hold the Echo icon on your Home Screen, then choose Remove App and Delete App.
Your photos
Echo never uploads your photos. They stay in your iOS photo library and Echo only reads them to show you a memory. Deleting Echo does not delete your photos, and deleting a photo is done in the Photos app. To stop Echo from reading your library at all, open iOS Settings, select Echo, and change Photos access.
Subscriptions
Apple manages Echo subscriptions and purchase records, not Mara. Cancel a subscription from your Apple account in iOS Settings, and contact Apple Support for questions about purchase history. Cancelling a subscription does not delete app data, and deleting app data does not cancel a subscription.
What we keep
Nothing of your journal. We hold no copies of your memories and collect no personal data, so there is no account or backup for us to erase on your behalf. If you have bought Plus, Apple and RevenueCat hold the purchase record; the privacy policy explains exactly what that is.
